Venturer Crew 2179 began in 2000 and continues today. We are chartered
by the Boy Scouts of America in Sandy, Utah. Our sponsor is a public
relations company ThatPRGuy.com, which is owned by our Venturer Advisor, David M. Bresnahan.
Our
crew is made up of guys between 14 and 21. We all have some scouting
experience, and most of us are Eagle Scouts or on our way to being
Eagles. Most of our members are also members of the Order of the Arrow.
We like high adventure in the outdoors.
We
don't stop in the winter. We like high adventure all year long. This is
an organization led by the youth, not the adults. They hang around to
make sure we don't kill ourselves, and help us get the training we
need. But WE are the ones who decide what we do, and we run things.
When you join us you can be a part of that. You can suggest activities
and places to go.
Our
crew does not have a specialty, and we like to try new things that we
haven't done before. We get a real high from taking on a tough
challenge and accomplishing it. What have we done so far? Take a look
at this partial list...
